Five Milestones in Two years: My 2nd UM Birthday Post

Milestone #1: Going to places I have always wanted to visit - for FREE!

My first ever Boracay trip was really an event monitoring stint for Bonamine's on-ground event. Since then, my brands took me to Misibis Bay, Boracay (again), and recently, Cebu. Being a travel-lover, I really appreciate this perk that comes with my work. Best of all the loot bags of JnJ products + other stuff are a girl's dream come true. Haha freeloader with a cause! :)

Milestone #2: I discovered my "kikay" (girly) side

The JnJ team (except for Eugene for obvious reasons) is the epitome of all things girly. Well, I think "in touch with their feminine side" is more like it. Some of us are a bit boyish but we definitely know what makes us - women - tick. Nonetheless, I learned how to put on make-up and dress up, most useful during special events/meetings. Most importantly, I learned that trying to look good is not a form of "kaartehan" but more of boosting confidence AND taking care of yourself. (But, of course, on lazy days I still stick to my t-shirt+jeans combo)

Milestone #3: Got out of my comfort zone - and enjoyed it!

Late last year, I joined an inter-agency singing competition. I’m a practically shy girl and I have never sung in front of an audience nor joined a singing competition in my whole 24 years of existence. WTH, I had fun. I had the team to thank for listening to my 'daily noontime' practice and for the all out support.

Milestone #4: Learned how to appreciate nature and be humbled by it

Our recent Mt. Batulao climb enabled me to have a new perspective about nature and the adventure that comes with exploring it. Now, I look forward to outdoor activities more than ever. The climb also taught me the true meaning of camaraderie and laughing during times of great stress (literally!).

Milestone #5: I rediscovered the importance of family, friends, and most especially Faith.

I guess this is the biggest legacy that the JnJ team has imparted to me. They helped me realize that family should come next to God, that spending time with your loved ones and friends is more important than the time you spend working extra hours. Not to say that work is not important but living your life is equally, if not more important. About faith, saan ka nakakita ng team na may bible reading bago mag meeting? Hahaha. Kidding aside, the team is composed of women (and man) with strong faith. Needless to say, JnJ has been more than a team to me – they're family.

Tama na nga baka maiyak pa ko haha. Obvious ba, happy ako sa team ko :)

So cheers to my 2nd birthday in UM and praying for more years to come.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Me!

It's my 2nd birthday in UM! More detailed blog post later :) ♥

Because a goal not written is only a wish...

Half of 2011 is almost done. Next thing we know it’s Christmas time again and then it’s 2012. My original plan this year was not to plan (and I think, I pretty much achieved that goal already haha). But then again, since I realized I wanted to hold on to something concrete to measure my progress, I decided to list down a few goals for the rest of the year:

  • · Learn how to drive (even if I don’t have a car). This would be useful during barkada trips around the Metro.
  • · Save at least 20,000 at the end of the year.
  • · Learn how to make no-bake cake/ cheesecake pops.
  • · Get a passport.
  • · Make an SSS loan.
  • · Go to the gym regularly on weekends.
  • · Finish reading the whole Harry Potter series.
  • · Learn how to swim.
  • · Do not use my credit card for the next 3 months (hehe).
  • · Go to Ilocos this year.
  • · Throw a party on my 25th birthday.

There. We’ll make an evaluation mid-December to check how many of these goals have been completed. Good luck!
