The Beach

The beach
Beckons
to the weary heart
to the brooding lad
the lonely heart that hungers to feel
Soft waves lapping at her feet,
Salty air brushing on her lips.

Replenish your soul
The beach beckons
Wash your dirty feet
Quench your thirsty heart
Bury your worries under the sand
Forget your pains, leave 'em all behind.

Won't you come with me?
Take my hand, into the sand
We will build our castle
With a moat and a drawbridge
Come with me
The beach beckons.

It's not as easy as you think...or Eugene's Hiking lessons 101

Lesson # 1: Your. Shoes. Must. Have. Tracks. (or you should not use hiking shoes that has not been used for trekking in the last 10 years.)

Exhibit A:

"I left my sole in Mt. Batulao, literally."

Lesson #2: Use your logic when rock-climbing your way up the peak.

"And yes, we're not there yet."
Lesson #3: There is strength in numbers. Walk in single file. When you need help, use your lifeline: Call a friend (a.k.a Eugene)

Lesson # 4:Water is the best medicine. Mountain Dew will give you hyper-acidity.
Lesson # 5: To disperse fear, take pictures while your walking on a cliff.

"Smile!"
Last but not the least: When in doubt, use your butt! Slide down the mountain when your feet won't let you drag them!

"The only way home is to slide down those camel backs."
