A one-paragraph reaction to Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

Too many characters and scenes omitted. I didn't expect the movie to be faithful to the book version but at least they could've kept the important characters such as Ares, Mr. D., the Oracle, Clarisse, and most especially Kronos. Without Kronos, there was really no point to it at all. There was even no mention of the prophecy. How do they propose to build up/connect to the other installments without the Titan and the prophecy, then?

Stalker files

I'm a stalker. Sheesh.

It's not that hard to admit it, especially if you're not the 'I'll-follow-you-to-your-house-and-scare-the-wits-out-of-you' type of stalker. I'm just someone who likes to stalk people by viewing their facebook profiles every waking day.

Yes, I'm caught up with the social networking hullabaloo of our lifetimes. It's a very good distraction on a slow workday. And, sometimes, I think I'm a little obsessed with this social networking phenomenon. I always challenge myself to log-off entirely for even just a single day; to resist the urge to socialize virtually, to dispel the notion of stalking people on Plurk, Facebook, etc. But really, I always fail. Or if I manage to log-off for half an hour, I'm either really busy working or feeding another addiction - playing PvsZ.

It's funny how people seem to include SN in their daily routines; to think that the Internet was just invented 10 years ago or so (I'm not sure exactly when so correct me if I'm wrong). It makes me wonder if SN sites are just another fad until some better invention or site will take over. Or will I stalk people forever? Substitute face-to-face communication with chat, Plurk, or Twitter? Hump, I don't know the answer.

One Word: Thumbtack

It was painful like a thorn stuck in your thumb. She did not know what to say. She looked at him with a blank stare. And in return he glared at her. The air was filled with tension so intense that it was hard to breathe.

One for the Books: The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs

Question from the reading guide: In your opinion, what is the main lesson of The Friday Night Knitting Club?

Answer: It's to give everyone - including yourself- a chance. Within the core of this book lies the central theme of forgiveness.
The Friday Night Knitting Club is a collection of women, each with a different story to tell. It is set in a New York Knitting shop called Walker and Daughter. Its owner, Georgia Walker, is a single mom trying to raise her bi-racial daughter named Dakota. She had her share of grief as the people she loved most either left or betrayed her - first her bestfriend Cat (who ditched her for college) and then, her boyfriend James who ran away when she told him she was pregnant. Her life changes when these two characters walk back in her life demanding her attention, and most of all, her forgiveness.
I was never one for chick lit/drama books. Nonetheless, I loved reading this book. Maybe because it talks about friendship as much as it talks about second chances and forgiveness. Also, I loved how the different women, with personal outlooks of their own, synergized and settled their differences through an old/traditional activity-knitting.

Final words: Life is what you make it and it's up to you how to knit or purl yours.

Keyword: Snap

"And then she snapped. Just like that. All her hidden anger burst in one spastic shot. She looked at him with deadly eyes, with a coldness he could feel even if he's far from her."

That's all I can write in 60 seconds about "Snap". It seems pretty lame. I don't know, I just can't seem to have the gusto to write anymore. I'm not even making sense.
