The Bipolar Playlist

Some songs have upbeat melodies but, if you listen to the words, these songs are actually sad.

Here are a few examples:

Payphone (Maroon 5) – “If fairy tales did exist, I would still be holding you like this.”

Maroon 5 has a couple of other “bipolar” songs – Misery, Makes Me Wonder, etc

Summer Sunshine (The Corrs) – “Now that you’ve left me, there’s no returning.”

Hurricane Drunk (Florence + The Machine) – “And in the crowd, I see you with someone else.”

Viva La Vida (Coldplay) – “Just a puppet on a lonely string. Oh who would ever want to be king?”

So on a bipolar day, you know which songs I would be listening to. :)

Do One thing Everyday that Scares you: Pt. 2

Day 2: Admit your insecurities to someone

Thankful that that someone always listens to my issues. Listens patiently and objectively.

Do One thing Everyday that Scares you: Pt. 1

Day 1: Wear killer shoes.

Hey Hachi!

Me: Hey Hachi!
Hachi: What do you want now?
Me: Can you please get off the table? I want to watch TV and you're blocking my view.
Hachi: Can't you see I'm resting? And, I was here first.
Me: Get off the table now or I'll...
Hachi: You and your empty threats. Don't disturb me or I'll be mad. And you know what that means. (Scratches the table for more emphasis, then goes back to sleep)

(Gave up trying to coax her. Instead of watching TV, just went to sleep.)

How to Spend the last months of 2012?

Time flies so fast, indeed. I can still recall my Bohol vacation like it was yesterday when, in fact, it was way back in November 2011. And, suddenly, November is just a good six months away from now. Time flies too fast.

I was able to cross out six, out of my 12 goals for 2012. So for the rest of the year, I'd be busy learning how to use chopsticks, learning how to swim, learning how to surf, joining one more LitWit challenge, saving up x-amount of money, and climbing at least two mountains. All before 2012 comes to a close. Pretty ambitious? Well, we'll see how determined I am to achieve all these.

2012 is my year of dreams. This year, I was able to realize one big dream that I wanted to fulfill. This dream scares me but I'll do it anyway. I do not want to preempt anything so I'm keeping my mouth shut first on what it is. One thing's for sure: aside from ticking off the remaining six goals, I would be busy preparing for this big dream for the next, remaining seven months of 2012.

Day 14- Post your favorite poem
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening (Robert Frost)
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
